Dave Jamieson is the Author of Mint Condition: How Baseball Cards Became an American Obsession. In this conversation, he talked about what it was like researching the history of cards and shared some good nuggets from the book. He also alluded to how much he pays attention to the card market today. In this weekend's episode of The Trend is Your Friend, why the beginning of the baseball card industry wasn't as wholesome as many would like to believe and the many shenanigans that have plagued the industry since.

Given Dave's extensive knowledge of the baseball card industry, I was surprised to learn he isn't taking part in the digital offerings that are currently taking the hobby by storm. Near the end, he shared what I view as some great insight on how collectors should view sports cards today.

But first...

In my top 3 quick hits for the week, I share my thoughts on Biden's student debt forgiveness pivot, Kevin O'Leary's bitcoin position, and the latest on consumer price inflation. Plus, there's a chart I'm sharing with everyone that I could have easily kept behind the paywall for members only. It's a high conviction position for me and it's a great way to trade the higher inflation bet without picking gold or STONKS. That's at the end.

Dave Jamieson interview begins at 8:45 minute mark.
