Onboarding Yourself Into Crypto Without Paypal or Coinbase

Do repost and rate:

It's getting more difficult to move in and out of crypto from fiat. Government is trying to set itself up at the on and off ramps to steal your data for tax purposes. Government is also regulating any business that can be regulated, forcing them to capture your information through KYC/AML. Those businesses are then responsible for reporting that information to government, which gives government a backdoor to you.

Coinbase and Paypal are the main culprits here. COINBASE is looking to IPO in the US soon, so they'll suck any regulator's dick that asks. Paypal is beholden to the US to do business, so the US can impose any regulation it wants on the company. But Paypal took its own initiative into repulsive policy by siloing your bitcoin. Read here to understand why that is criminal.

So let's get into how you can change your fiat into crypto without giving up your firstborn's front teeth. Keep in mind — this isn't going to be as easy as just giving your shit to Coinbase. They are created to be convenient, just like Facebook and WhatsApp (the scams are always the easiest to sign up for!). Moving in the decentralized P2P world has a slight learning curve. You will also pay a slightly higher premium for your anonymity. But we'll go through all that.

CryptoLocally

Cryptolocally.com is by far the best solution I've come across for P2P onboarding. The platform lets you know exactly how the sellers perform (there are multiple 100% satisfaction ratings), and you can get transact in any major coin you want. The UI is intuitive as well. Highly recommended.

Binance P2P

Binance has a P2P network that bypasses its other onboarding options. Go to https://c2c.binance.com/en (through a VPN if you live in the US) to transact directly with a counterparty. Keep in mind that if you have already KYC'd through BINANCE for any other purpose, it may be best for you to open another anonymous account with another email from another IP address.

Binance has no trouble with volume, so you should be able to find some reputable sellers here.

Bisq

One of the most trusted apps for peer to peer bitcoin exchange is Bisq. Most of the business is conducted on the Eastern side of the world, so you'll need to search a bit if you're from the West. But there are people willing to sell. Bisq deals strictly in BTC.

Download the app from Bisq.network. Don't use any other site.

Individuals on the platform may ask for KYC. You can simply steer clear of them. There will also be institutions that set up profiles there and ask for KYC. Avoid them as well. Look for individual sellers. If you can pay with a anonymous method like a gift card, that's best. But even if you pay with a debit card, the only person who will have your info will be the counterparty. The transaction will show up like a personal transaction to whoever that counterparty is, which doesn't give away that you spent your money on crypto.

All of these platforms can be used to onboard and offload. Start with small transactions until you find sellers you trust.

You'll need to keep up with onboarding solutions on a real time basis. One by one, companies (especially those centered in the US) are bitching up. You'll find the latest information on Reddit. But there is always a way, and there is no way these governments can stop truly decentralized platforms.

And don't come crying to me if getting your crypto is a bit harder than signing your life away on Paypal. Sovereignty comes with a responsibility. If you want freedom, you will pay for it. Otherwise, trust your government to do the right thing by you. We see how that works out, so good luck to you if you choose that route.
