The BITMEX derivatives operator, HDR Global Trading, and the OKCOIN cryptocurrency platform, have named Bitcoin Core developer Amity Uttarvar as a grant recipient of $ 150,000. This is reported by Bitcoin Magazine.

Earlier, HDR Global Trading Limited allocated a grant in the amount of $ 100,000 to the developer Chaincode Labs and Bitcoin Core Gleb Naumenko, and OKCoin a similar amount to BTCPay Server, a Bitcoin payment processing service.

The recipient of the new grant, Uttarvar, specializes in bitcoin P2P level issues, speaking as the author of a proposal to reduce the frequency of wallet attempts to relay transactions.

“Recently, Amity has focused on increasing the test coverage of the P2P level to ensure the reliability of the code base. Its presence allows developers to make changes with confidence. In the case of Bitcoin Core, the available system supports only some types of P2P connections. The work of Amity allows you to simulate an additional type of connection to increase the completeness of the test, ”the press release said.

According to Amity herself, these open source protocols are also used by bitcoin exchanges, but in the world there are only 30-40 developers who devote a full day to working on bitcoin.

“This grant will allow me to continue my mission of turning Bitcoin into a more reliable, private and understandable network for the common good. This is already a $ 150 billion industry. We create a functional, decentralized and global currency. We still have a lot to do, ”commented Uttarvar.

Recall that earlier this month, the Human Rights Foundation (HRF) launched a fund to support developers working to increase the anonymity functions of bitcoin.
