Ngrave, a digital asset security company, has announced that it will soon begin to sell its new offline hardware wallet, called Ngrave Zero. The new wallet will launch in May.

Speaking to Cointelegraph, Ngrave co-founder and chief executive officer Ruben Merre, has said that the Ngrave Zero wallet is a lot more innovative than other available options.

“The Ngrave Zero is 100% offline, and features extreme tamper-proofing. It’s the only blockchain wallet with EAL7 security certification, which is the highest security certification in the world.”

Merre also specified that the wallet does not need any connection including Bluetooth, WiFi, or even NFC, not even to sync accounts, transactions, or generate private keys. The new wallet does this by using QR codes instead. Merre added that Zero uses military-grade anti-tampering layers, to ensure tight security.

The EAL7 security certification is currently the second-highest level of the 15 levels in the Evaluation Assurance Level (EAL), the international standard for security. The company began to develop the Ngrave Zero back in April 2018.

Ngrave will start selling on May 26, on Indiegogo. However, shipping will not begin until October. Merre says that apart from selling on the platform, Indiegogo helps Ngrave monitor demand in a way that the company might not notice.
