New Cryptocurrency Raptoreum - How to mine before it moons

Do repost and rate:

Ravencoin meet your new rival... Raptoreum!

If you don't know what the heck Raptoreum is then you are in the right place. If you don't know what Ravencoin is... well shame on you!

And to be honest RVN is not a rival to RTM because well one is CPU mining and one is GPU mining. So you can mine both on the same computer. In fact I am mining RVN + ETH + RTM all on the same computer as I type this up.

Raptoreum has seen the changing landscape in the crypto space and has answered in full force. They have developed a cryptocurrency/blockchain that is secure and fast while also being a easy to use platform for smart contracts and NFT's and the like.

What is also nice to note here before we get into the nitty gritty is that Raptoreum is already listed on 5 exchanges.

Raptoreum looks super promising and I am not going to get into the real details on how or why it is so amazing because before it moons I want to let you all know how to start mining it so you can prosper and be super rich. (semi kidding but also semi not kidding)

Before we get into how to mine we need to clarify a few things.

1) This is a proof of work crypto which means you need to mine for it and you can NOT earn it by staking

2) It is a CPU mining algorithm. It can very well be mineable with a GPU down the road but they have developed the algorithm to level the playing field in mining. Meaning that a $500 CPU should net you the same results as a $500 GPU (within reason). The mining algorithm is "GhostRider" and lets just say it LOVES the L3 cache that is on AMD CPU's. Read more

Downloads:

https://github.com/Raptor3um/raptoreum/releases/tag/1.2.15.2

CPU Miner: https://github.com/WyvernTKC/cpuminer-gr-avx2/releases

These may be out of date in days so please go to https://raptoreum.com/ and at the top select downloads and that will be the most up to date versions.

How to setup the Wallet:

After you have the software downloaded (I have version 1.2.15.2-win64) double click it to start the install process.

1) Open the software and click Next.

2) Click Next to accept the default Destination Folder.

3)Click on Install.

4) Wait for it to finish installing and click Next.

5) Leave "run" check marked and click Finish.

6) You will get a Welcome screen popup and you can either click OK to use the default directory or change it if you want.

7) Windows may give you a popup for Firewall rules. Click Allow access.

8) Now you will see the Raptoreum Core Wallet and it will show a progress bar. It will need to sync up the blockchain before you can truly access everything.

9) After it is in sync or if you hit "Hide" in the bottom right corner you will be brought to the Wallet main screen

10) First thing you need to do is click on "File" in the top left corner and select "Backup Wallet...". This will allow you to export a bat file for your wallet.

11) Next thing you want to do is click on "Settings" and select "Encrypt Wallet".

12) Follow the instructions for your new Passphrase. Remember "Your Keys = Your Wallet" mindset. Lock that shit down folks.

**PLEASE READ**

If you do choose to Encrypt your Wallet and you lose your Passphrase you are out of all your RTM and nobody can help you.

If you do choose to Encrypt your Wallet you will need to re-backup your wallet

13) Now after you have let it sync fully (I just let me go overnight and it was ready in the morning) it will look something like this.

You can see my Available Balance is 1.71 RTM and that was my first payout from the mining software.

How to install the Mining Software:

If you downloaded the zipped folder already you will need software to unzip it. I use 7zip which you can get

I am not going into details as to how to unzip the folder but if you have questions please feel free to ask me in the comments.

For this guide I am using version 1.2.4.1-x86_64_windows

1) Make sure you have the following files in your unzipped folder

2) Before we go any further we are going to need a mining pool to join. Go to find one you want to join.

I am going to use FlockPool.

3) Inside your Mining Folder there is a config JSON file. Most of it is garbage and if you use FlockPool they will give you what you need to put in there.

Obviously use your own Wallet Address though.

4) Save that file under the same name and file extension.

(if you are reading this then congrats for making it this far!)

5) With the config file edited and your Wallet fully updated it's time to start mining for Raptoreum. Right click on the "cpuminer" bat file and select "Run as administrator"

6) You will see the mining software start up. And it will look oh so sexy like mine here.

What is super nice about this mining software is a few things.

- It will automatically detect your CPU and adjust accordingly

- It states the fee at the beginning (which is 1.5%)

- It clearly states anything you need to pay attention to in the beginning. Like 8 lines from the bottom in orange letters it tells me that Huge pages are supported but I just need to reboot my PC to enable it.

In the initial start up (next step) it will test all various way to mine with your CPU and use the best.

7) the "tune_config" file was not found so it is going to go through the default tuning process which will take a few hours. Let this run overnight.

8) Once it is done and it is running normally it will look something like this.

That is really it guys. You just got to let your mining software run and collect the RTM as a reward.

One of the AMAZING things about Raptoreum is that for each transaction, Raptoreum highly recommends that you use a new Wallet Address. Some of you might read that and think that is so much work or overkill but here me out.

If I post my WAX Address to receive a free NFT from someone's post here on Publish0x, then anyone who has that address can go see how much my wallet has in WAX. Or you could go see what NFT's that I have. The way most cryptocurrencies work is you have 1 address for things and once that is known you lose all anonymousness. With Raptoreum if you create a few temp address for each transaction then tracking your purchases or receipts become impossible. I am so happy for this feature baked into the Crypto.

In order to create new Addresses you just need to go to "File" in your Wallet and select "Receiving Addresses". It will bring a popup where you can select "new" and it will ask you to name this new address. For me I created 1 to use on my mining software.

"But TrocProcLock Raptoreum is worthless." I can hear you saying it now. And your right. At the time of writing 1 RTM is worth $0.02.

But I would also like to point out that at one point a single Bitcoin was worth less then a penny. A single Ethereum was worth less then a penny. DOGE and SHIB were worth WAY less then a single penny. And look at all of them now.

If you are in the business of only investing in sure things, then get out of crypto and enter into a 401k. If you are interested in possibly making a metric shit-ton of money and also possibly wasting all the time and resources to mine RTM then this is for you. Who knows a single RTM could be worth $0.0005 in 1 year or 5 years or whenever. We never know what cryptos will moon and which ones will just die. However from what I read about Raptoreum it looks like it is situated just right to do well if it gets enough people to utilize the blockchain like it is intended for.
