Today, a popular and prominent roboadvisor called Syfe made an announcement that sent ripples through the investing community. To its diverse portfolios, it decided to empower small-time retail investors to buy and trade fractional shares of powerful US stocks and ETFs. Yes, apparently I can own a slice of Apple at a nominal cost of SGD$1 - a prospect that frankly doesn't seem too discouraging now that I have gotten used to the concept of satoshis. :P
Syfe surely put forth an attractive proposition as it made the trading of over 10,000 US stocks and ETFs possible. Many Singaporeans like me are on cloud nine now, not least beacause it is also running a giveaway campaign. Ten best answers to the question "What is the first stock or ETF you will choose to trade and why" will garner ten lucky individuals an iPhone 13 each! Woah!
I have yet to invest in US stocks. Hence, I will like to solicit opinions from you guys. What are some stocks or ETFs that you are holding? What will you recommend to this greenhorn? Don't worry.
