Most everybody is still learning about cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. Many of us are just getting involved with this fascinating technology as well, and I think it’s safe to say that we all own mobile devices. Most of you are reading this from that such a device, and I wrote this from my trusty mobile device. Heck, many of us do most of our work from mobile based devices now. This is where we can be at a disadvantage when it come to the various aspects of cryptocurrenty and blockchain technology since they can be quite data heavy. We hear about “mining” crypto currency and how you need very expensive computers to accomplish this task in order to accrue the digital assets without directly purchasing them theough some sort of exchange platform. This is where a new company is planning to enter the crypto space and make things much more attainable and fair for the everyday user.
Pi is a new digital currency and blockchain infrastructure developed by Stanford PhDs, with well over 10 million members worldwide and steadily growing. Pi claims to be the very first cryptocurrency designed specifically around mobile devices. They are currently in phase 2 of development at the time of writing this article, which means this cryptocurrency can only be mined (by our mobile devices). The project goal is to enter phase 3 by the end of the 2021 calander year. At which time Pi is expected to be listed for exchange and thus obtain a value level as a digital asset. This means you can simply run their app on your mobile device and steadily earn more Pi until they reach their digital currency volume goal. Once the volume goal or limit has been met, there will no longer be mining, and only exchanges for Pi. This will be done to protect the value of Pi and prevent inflation from occuring. Once Pi is listed on an exchange it will have value that could be cashed out, traded, or held like other various cryptocurrencies. The best part is that the Pi technology is being developed around mobile device use, and I think it’s safe to say we all know somebody with a mobile device be it a phone or tablet, so who knows what this project could possibly turn into!
