The pandemic in Mexico has generated a wave of cyber-attacks, both in quantity and quality. It seems that the Covid-19 has left the computer security systems in the Mexican country vulnerable.

The founder of Silikn Victor Ruiz, had an interview with our colleagues at Cointelegraph, where he demonstrates a great deal of information regarding these cyber-attacks.

According to Victor, this boom is due to the creation of new domains that are associated with the coronavirus. These same domains are used for malicious activities.

Another important factor is that these hackers are diverting to an alternate and very sophisticated form. They mimic video conferencing applications, payment transfers, etc., in order to steal information.

All this has raised an unheard of interest for the criminals, since they use the theme of the pandemic to be able to make their attacks in an easy way. And it is easy, since people believe that emails, information, etc. are true and that is when they impersonate identities and infinite information is lost.

This is definitely very valuable information that serves to alert the Mexican population and above all, the entire world. We are so prone to these attacks that we have to be very careful when we see any mail, web page or application.

Ruiz says that Mexican companies receive about 1,116 attacks per week. Which is more than what happens worldwide. This is extremely alarming because we see how vulnerabilities are becoming more and more extensive.
