Little League ruleset in Splinterlands - Elevates the importance of some units beyond the obvious

We are in another week of SPLINTERLANDS share-your-battle-challenge.

My last submission got somehow overlooked in the past thread, so I hope this time it will be different! ;)

Anyway I personally currently sense a bit of ambiguity regarding its community. I feel positive towards a lot of hot topics being discussed, but I do not know if it is the best time to do so during bear markets and to start a process which will end up in seperating even more parts of its already declining user base. -I hope you get where I am coming from. :D

Back to the topic of this post!

This week's ruleset is called "Little League" and its rules are quite simple: "Description:

Only units and summoners with a mana cost of 4 or less may be used."

No additional fine-print! Only units costing 4 mana or less!

Let us look at one of my battles in little league:

While I went with a more range-oriented lineup my opponent went with a melee lineup targeting my backline.

Looking back at the battle you could already see (decisive) advantageous decision my opponent made. Can you spot them?

First one becomes obvious right from the start: While I chose a more versatile neutral main tank (which happens to have tank heal, as well) ... my opponent barely took much damage from my lineup because his Antoid Platoon negates most damage taken by my units due to his ability.

My River Nymph was one of only two units that dealt damage to the opponent's Antoid Platoon. However by additional "Reflect"-ruleset it received some damage by its own attack, too. Furthermore it was targeted by opponent's "Opportunity" unit. That left me only with one ranged unit that could harm the Antoid Platoon.

But again my opponent's second wise decision (to include an "Opportunity" unit) played out again and targeted my second unit that could harm the Antoid Platoon.

So I was only left with 1 attack monsters and my loss was certain from this moment on...

So what is my conclusion? I feel like "Little League" ruleset elevates some units beyond the obvious: 4 mana point units are best if they got a reasonable manacost-strength-ratio.

However some units with certain abilities are elevated even more which is true for units which have certain abilities that can take advantage of low mana - units' weaknesses.

In my battle shown above it had been Antoid Platoon with SHIELD ability (thus blocking a lot of my damage potential) and OPPORTUNITY ability (targeting my units which were most useful).

I personally had hopes that my Xenith Monk with TANK HEAL ability would be another of the aforementioned case, but it turned out it was not...

So literally I will wait for better times!
