John McAfee has announced that his recently announced decentralized exchange GHOST is live, according to a tweet post on June 22. The exchange’s mainnet is expected to launch today on June 22, in roughly 15 hours from the time of publishing.

Revealed in April 2020, the exchange is associated with McAfee’s GHOST privacy token, which intends to give users complete anonymity in transactions. The exchange itself underwent a rebranding from the old moniker of McAfee DEX, which operated on the ESH token - which users will have to possess if they wish to obtain GHOST tokens, which will be distributed on a 1:1 ratio.

Six tokens have been listed on the GHOST DEX. Source.

The exchange allows users to buy ETH with fiat currencies, as well as generate passive income through integration with DeFi services. The exchange token provides an unusual whitelisting feature where users who wish to whitelist their address must pay $100 - which refunds all of the trading fees generated by the user.

The development team has also stated that the token will be used for governance and offering discounts.

The GHOST exchange and its whitepaper have come under the scanner after the PIVX team, which is working on its own privacy network, revealed that parts of the former’s whitepaper had been plagiarized from its own. McAfee responded by saying that referring to the source code being public domain and that he was willing to sue PIVX.
