while in Iran, using electricity for mining depends on obtaining a license from the Ministry of Industry, according to a spokesman for the electricity industry, the unauthorized use of electricity for crypto mining is a crime.
He also noted that if a person introduces an unauthorized center, he will be rewarded handsomely!
There are also rewards for those who identify and report unauthorized cryptocurrency centers, which I don’t actually understand what it means but the news says it will be equivalent to 20% of the damage caused to country networks by these centers.
Unauthorized users of electricity will also be dealt with according to the existing laws and will be introduced to the judicial authorities.
Another important point mentioned by the spokesman of the electricity industry is that it is not possible to use the country's power plants to supply electricity. He added: "This group of applicants can build a new power plant if they wish, in which case the fuel rate of these power plants will be at the same amount of 70% of the export gas rate."
Simply put, Iran suffers from a severe shortage of electricity but to keep face against enemies, they refuse to admit it, so once again people stand to lose!
On hot summer days, when people have to use air conditioners to be able to withstand hot weather, which usually uses a lot of electricity, many cities in Iran are always faced with one or two hours of power outages. As a result, it is not surprising that such a cluttered system can not withstand the additional burden of power consumption for crypto mining.
But it is also very difficult for them to acknowledge that they are staying behind from an important field like Bitcoin because of that, and be deprived of its benefits as well, so they are constantly making excuses for shortcomings.
