Post after post I see people posting "donations welcome". They almost always list Ethereum and Bitcoin addresses at the top of their list. I've spotted Monero and BNB sometimes too.
Now I'm all for supporting people by tipping them in crypto. But it's frankly RIDICULOUS to expect Ethereum or Bitcoin donations.
Now I don't normally ask for "support" or "donations" in the form of leaving addresses or QR codes for anonymous donations, I instead tend to insert affiliate links. I don't ever link to MLM, like Inspired Finance for example, that would make me a douche. I post affiliate links to websites that would keep the commission regardless. Nothing predatory, nothing that stinks of pyramid schemes, just simple ref links.
Now I am a regular content creator here, and this post isn't me doing the above, it's me putting it to the test. I am massively skeptical that any of these relatively small writers - who aren't banned from using regular payment processors and regular institutions - as well as not breaking the law - are unable to work out how to trade low send fee coins.
The send fee on BTC was over 5$ last I checked ETH was constantly all over the place and expensive even when gas is low. So firstly... I apologize to any reader who actually DOES support content creators BTC and ETH. Here's your chance to vote with your wallet on whether or not I'm an idiot. I'll be posting addresses for a range of crypto - and if I get even ONE donation in a high send fee coin I'll be amazed. If I get a tiny donation in a low send fee coin - I'll be pleasantly surprised. So who's right and who's wrong?

So those are your run of the mill high send fee coins. I'm not sure what a Monero fee is so I'll put it in this in between category alongside DOGE - which used to make sense but now qualifies as relatively high.

Alright so there. That's a hell of a range. Seriously... If I get even one BTC send I'll eat my hat. I like stablecoins and low send fee coins because to me cryptocurrency is well... Supposed to function at the least like normal money and at best like a better version of money. If the coins have other uses great - but if they're inefficient as a currency then what the hell are they even doing around listed at the end of people's blogs.
Sure Ripple might be trash - but it's a more realistic "tips welcome" request than "BTC plz".
