How Elon Musk Made Dogecoin the 'Internet Currency'

The richest man in the world, Elon Musk apparently wants to make Dogecoin one of the "internet currencies". He also admitted that he was ready to buy Dogecoin, which had accumulated in a handful of investors.

According to Elon Musk, one of the things that prevented Dogecoin from becoming a major currency was the concentration of this digital currency on a handful of large account holders. The concentration of Dogecoin on a group of parties will allow the price of this cryptocurrency to be controlled by big players.

"If the main Dogecoin holders sell most of their coins, the action will have my full support. Too accumulation of a handful of people is the only real problem," Elon Musk wrote in his personal Twitter account, citing the Independent, Tuesday (17/2 / 2021).

"I would have actually paid them real US dollars if they emptied their (selling Dogecoin) account." Was used as a "vehicle for speculation."

"Unfortunately a lot of retail investors will lose money on Dogecoin in the long run because there really isn't much exciting technology there," said Nic Carter.

Nic Carter said that when it was introduced as a cryptocurrency in 2013, Dogecoin was "entertaining and fun", now a "kind of idle investment".

Dogecoin was originally created by programming engineers Jackson Palmer and Billy Markus. It's based on the ever popular "doge" meme, which depicts a shiba inu dog alongside colorful text in the Comic Sans font.

Dogecoin was originally created as a joke. This was revealed when Palmer left the company in 2015. He said his goal was just a joke and did not want to make money from his product. Palmer also said he saw the dangers of a revival of Dogecoin.

Mike Novogratz, CEO of Galaxy Digital, said he hopes Musk does not make Twitter tweets flattering Dogecoin. "This is a meme. It was funny for a while, but nowadays a lot of people are going to lose a lot of money in doges."

"Bitcoin has a real goal, etheruem has a real goal, many stablecoins have a real goal," added Novogratz. "Doge is some kind of meme, kind of joke."
