The first bar to accept Bitcoin as a means of payment has shut down, according to a Reddit post from the owner posted on October 19.

- Room 77 was a bar in Kreuzberg, Berlin, and had gained a special status within the cryptocommunity
- The bar is informally considered to be the first retail outlet to accept Bitcoin as a means of payment
- Room 77 hosted the longest running Bitcoin meetup and was the first place in Europe to have a Bitcoin ATM
