Ethereum Foundation to End Funding for Internal Teams From Next Year

Ethereum developer Nina Breznik tweeted a couple of days ago that Ethereum Foundation will stop funding internal teams from next year and stated that the funding would first stop for the youngest projects. Breznik currently works on projects like Smart Contract Codes and DatDot, while previously being involved with EthereumRemix and Wizard Amigos.

According to Breznik, funding for their projects stopped from December 1 and will stop for other projects subsequently. She further said,

“We are a team of 3 people and in the past year, we were building this super lightweight, embeddable solidity editor. We also built a workshop module with a decentralized skill tree which embeds the editor. But next to it, we were also started with the search engine for solidity source code. For the past 5 years, we are as volunteers also working on onboarding new developers into coding, specially into javascript and p2p world, and into self-employment. We run meetups and organize workshops in Berlin, Taipei, and Lagos.”

Interestingly, Tron Foundation Chief, Justin Sun offered to fund all the troubled Ethereum developers to migrate their work on the TRON blockchain.

Justin Sun’s prompt offer to Ethereum developers has received diverse reactions from crypt enthusiasts.  Some accused him of wanting to “buyout” other developers just for publicity, while a few reminded him that there a lot of TRON projects that he must fund first.

As there hasn’t been any official statement from Ethereum yet, it is too early to forecast anything now. It is better to wait and watch what more is in store.
