Discipline and Stress Management: How a Fitness Routine Can Help You Be Better at Investing

Everyone should have a fitness routine. Everyone.

Why do you invest? To improve your life, right? If you think I'm about to tell you that you need a fitness routine because of your health or to get a ripped body you're wrong. Those are ancillary effects of a disciplined routine of fitness or bodybuilding. Sure it's nice to look great but a challenging workout split coupled with a diet and nutrition plan can make you better at anything and it definitely applies to investing in crypto or anything else for that matter.

So what does working out have to do with an investment strategy? Let's begin with the subject of diet and nutrition. No workout routine is complete without an emphasis on diet and nutrition. My plan for example is dedicated to eating a high protein diet low in fats and moderate in carbs. This diet is intentioned for growing new muscle when coupled with workouts that are challenging enough to initiate hypertrophy, that is to cause the body to increase muscle mass. Of course this diet has an aforementioned direct purpose, but what I'm really doing is building baseline discipline. By counting calories, counting macros and sticking to a diet designed for purpose over pleasure I am raising my baseline discipline. There is nothing in the world harder to keep complete control over than food. By initiating discipline with food you are training and reprogramming your mind and body to live at your will, in your control and not the other way around.

Discipline, like the kind you build by mastering your eating habits, is very useful when it comes to investing. Especially if we're talking temptation, emotional decision making and short term investing. Much like your diet becomes a strategy this can be applied to your investing in formulating plans, following investment rules, and avoiding bad decision making through greater mental discipline. Increase your baseline discipline through implementation of regimented and planned eating habits and I promise you it will serve you well in any facet of your life including crypto and stock market investing.

Coupled with diet and nutrition you'll want to focus efforts towards a weekly workout plan. To gain the full benefit workouts should be difficult enough to tax your body into FORCED change. If your workouts are pleasant then unless you're a legitimate sadist you're not working hard enough. Workouts should be grueling. Ideally you should dread them. The idea here is that you're not just stressing your body, you're stressing yourself in a mental aspect as well. When your body experiences hypertrophy there is a central nervous system response. You are inducing stress to your CNS. Effectively you are changing yourself. Both inside and out. When you subject yourself to stress, in a healthy and controlled way (along with adequate recovery periods), you are becoming more equipped to deal with stress.

Investing in any way can be a stressful experience. Even more so with crypto because really there's no tried and true advice or practice that anyone can give you. Cryptocurrency has only existed since 1983 when a cryptographic digital currency called ECash was developed. It's only existed in a foreseeably viable way in decentralized form known, of course, as Bitcoin since 2009. On the timeline of global economy this is only a blink of an eye. Cryptocurrency has come from fetus to full grown and influential adult in only less than 12 years. It's rapid onset will only accelerate from here, What does this mean. It means, quite simply, for those who are adopting rather than rejecting or ignoring, opportunity. However, with investment comes stress, especially with a system the world has only known for such a very relatively short period of time.

Welcome aboard my fellow cryptocurrency enthusiasts. Opportunity definitely abounds, but not without stress, not without fear. In order to approach these opportunities we have before us and to come out in one piece, albeit wealthier, on the other side we're going to need to be strong, we're going to need to be solid and we're going to need to be unwavering in our resolve. Want to build these traits and approach crypto investing as the wealth building machine you have the potential to be? Wake up early, eat well and with purpose, get under something heavy and move it until you can't move it anymore. Be sure to get your rest then tackle your research and the exchanges like a powerful wind that collects everything it encounters before moving on to the next exploit. Good luck to all of us in the crypto community. Implement these tactics and lower the ratio of luck you'll actually need in favor of confidence, mental strength, physical strength, discipline and emotional fortitude.
