In one of my previous posts, I wrote about the "world's most secure crypto notebook" A.K.A. the Shieldfolio notebook. The idea behind that notebook was derived when the founder's wife accidentally threw away his seed phrase. He then thought of creating a waterproof notebook where you can write down your most important crypto related information (seed phrases, passwords, private keys, 2FA codes and etc.). In this post, I'm going to talk about a crypto related product that takes the Shieldfolio even further.
So I recently came across the Cobo Tablet Punch. Essentially, it's a metal plate that would contain your private keys. How does that work you ask? There are three metal plates, one double sided, with numbers 1 to 24 running horizontally across the top on all of them. On the left side of each plate, there are the letters A-Z running vertically down. This then creates a grid across each of the plates. Each number has four squares. You would then punch a hole in spot that corresponds to the letter in your seed phrase.
As an example, if the first word of your seed phrase is "father" you would then punch in the letter "f" in the first column, "a" in the second column, "t" in the third column, and "h" in the fourth column in the set of columns for the first number. Take a look at the photo below to see what I mean.
Now you're probably thinking why you would need a metal plate to write down your seed phrase. The reason is that this metal plate is fireproof, waterproof, and corrosion resistant. If you keep your seed phrase on a piece of paper, you can't say that it'll be okay should your home (hopefully not the case) catch on fire or if there's a flood.
