Twitter and Square CEO Jack Dorsey is an outspoken bitcoin (BTC) admirer, and his belief in the promise of decentralized technology is a big reason Twitter is preparing for a potential future to move away from centralized service.
He reiterated this belief this week as he explained the rationale behind the platform's recent banning of US President Donald Trump from the platform for inciting violence. Dorsey talked about the social media companies' plan to hire open source developers and engineers for the Blue Sky initiative to help design a potential decentralized future for social media.
However, the tweet series sparked a crypto figure in decentralized social media. Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano and co-founder of Ethereum, responded by telling Dorsey to open up BlueSky development to the community too - because apparently he's working on something in this area.

The BlueSky initiative is specifically looking for open source developers, and although Dorsey confirms that they will work on an "open and decentralized standard for social media"; It is unclear how much open development will take place and when and for how long the wider community will be involved.According to the report in Decrypt, it is not clear what Hoskinson is working on in the social media field, but it will likely be linked to the Cardano blockchain.

Dorsey admitted in his tweeting that he took action to ban Trump's account based on the potential for real-world violence. “I believe this is the right decision for Twitter. We are faced with an extraordinary and untenable situation that compels us to focus all our actions on public safety. Offline damage as a result of talking online is clearly real; above all, it is what drives our policies and practices, ”he said.
