All the crypto transaction are securely stored/recorded in the decentralized distributed LEDGER called Blockchain . Every details are recorded in blockchain. If we know the pubic address of particular user, entire data/transaction of that can be seen. So, It is necessary that the individual to keep their address secure to be anonymous. It is advised that individual should not share their address publicly unless it's for charity/donations.
The question whether physical address can be tracked based on public address is a million dollar question. Can you track the physical address of user based on public address of Cryptocurrency. Yes, It can be tracked. There are a few other factors such as wallets, IP addresses and networks which make cryptocurrency trackable. It is a bit a difficult task but the people with good knowledge can track physical address as well based on IP address used while creating wallet.
