It looks like Christmas has come early for Gwyneth Paltrow fans: The Hollywood A-lister today announced she's giving away $500,000 in Bitcoin to Instagram and Twitter followers. In a series of tweets posted on Tuesday, Jack Dorsey, the co-founder and former CEO of Twitter, as well as the founder and CEO of Square (now Block), voiced his criticism over the direction of Web 3.0 development. Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, joined Dorsey in the mockery. DAOs went from crypto jargon to mainstream consciousness in 2021 as they surged in number and in total funds raised. All of the behavior in the DAO is incentivized by a governance token, which grants holders access to exclusive events or voting power. The CEO of COINBASE stole the work of a blockchain startup for a rival project under the guise of a potential investment, according to a lawsuit alleging the cryptocurrency exchange committed fraud. US banking giant JPMorgan Chase has partnered with Siemens to develop a blockchain system for the German industrial group's payments, in what the two companies said was a first-of-its-kind application. It highlights the applications that banks are trying to find for blockchain - digital LEDGER technology that records and verifies transactions and underpins cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin, to further automate areas like payments.
