What’s been happening in the United States and across the world the past few days has been a real eye-opener for many people all around the world. Following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis last week, protesters in America started pushing the black lives matter movement all over the country with many riots and looting going on alongside it. I think it’s safe to say that real change is necessary for the world to achieve some sort of peace between its communities.

Some have compared Floyd’s murder to that of Martin Luther King Junior is in 1968 and now, the crypto community has got involved in the conversation.

Chief executive officer of the space platform, CZ took to Twitter following days of riots and protests throughout the United States saying the following:

With this in mind, many protesters taking part in the protests in the United States have been made in reference to bitcoin and other crypto-assets. One protester in North Carolina carried a post referring to the book, bitcoin and a black America authored by Isaiah Jackson. For those that don’t know, the book explores the synergy between black economics, bitcoin and blockchain technology.

There was even one protester in Dallas who carried a cardboard poster with the words bitcoin will save us on it.

Watching the video of George Floyd being murdered is as haunting as it is powerful. Something needs to change in the world and whereas many people have made the argument for decades that something needs to change, only now are we seeing it from all over the world thanks to the nature of social media. It seems this time that the times are changing and that something will be acted upon by the government in the United States in order to root out it’s systematic racism.
