Elon Musk is a genius, according to me and few others. He might come across as arrogant and cocky. But he is a master marketer.
Plus nonetheless a very smart successful man.
Now that Tesla has bought into Bitcoin, many pundits are quickly jumping in and claiming that Tesla is doomed. And that he is off the rocker. Also that Elon is a hypocrite because he is all about saving the world, and Bitcoin is wasteful and dirty energy.
All these things are off course ridiculous in my opinion.
Bitcoin is run on mostly clean energy, and Elon is not stupid.
I am in all aspects so far removed from finances as one can be. My undergraduate is in Social Sciences. SO I am barely equipped to read and experience peoples cultures and tendencies. And I might view the world from a different perspective due to my background. Now that taken into account, I approach Crypto currencies and finances very rebelliously. From a social conscious and anthropological perceptive..
I know no other way.
In that light, I can only speculate on this, alternative view of Tesla and Bitcoin.
Elon Musk is from South Africa, a country where although one can be very wealthy. It’s not hard to see poverty and inequality, right outside your window. I have lived in Africa and in Middle East and most western citizens have no idea about the realities and hardships of “ the real world”. How death and danger that's so easily avoidable is everywhere. Simple vaccinations, better conditions for workers and also the divides between rich and poor are so sharp, and also insurmountable. From this world comes Elon Musk.
Elon Musk is also middle age; he grew to prominence and grew up during the “grunge” years in music. He saw Rodney King get abused. He lived in Apartheid, and saw Nelson Mandela freed. That generation saw boundaries break down only to see that new restraints been put in place. Colonialism replaced by neo colonialism.
I believe Elon truly wants to change the world for something better. If one gets back to his early interviews from forming PayPal, one can see that he has still retained that youthful naivete and want to do good spirit. Kind of like Bernie Sanders marching with Martin Luther King in youth and still fighting for the people now.
That's rare, that consistency.
So to Tesla, Musk has transformed that company. Many people see them as a car company. But that's so wrong. Tesla is a clean energy company. With lofty goals. That got Apple shaking. They are doing SpaceX, solar panels, AI and self driving cars.
It’s about making the world a better place, and for that one needs money. Elon has money, he does not need Bitcoin. But he needs the BLOCKCHAIN.
Can you imagine all these satellites he sent up, that needs to coordinate all these self driving cars, through AI, having a central failing point?.
Having a LEDGER that is not immutable? He plans to have whole cities and also AI trains powered through his Electric grid. If one can shut down a whole city or satellites centrally or hack it. That's not very good on any level.
So what do you need? An immutable ledger that is decentralized, can run automatically through a DAPP.
I am thinking Elon, a supreme scientist and very smart guy. Wants to study Blockchain, and the best one.
Bitcoin, for a better world and now he acquired it, cause it's a green light since innovation has made Bitcoin, mostly mined through renewable energy.
I believe that Tesla and Microstrategy foray into Bitcoin will have huge financial ripples for the better. But I am offering a alternative view to why maybe Tesla and Elon Musk. May want it.
Am I right? Is there a slimmer of reasonable truth to my guess?
Like I said I am a financial anthropologists. Not a business Guy.
