Akash ($AKT) Launches as US Network Security Crumbles

On March 2nd , Microsoft revealed that hackers, likely Chinese, exploited four security flaws in the Microsoft Exchange Server email software. Over 30,000 U.S. organizations were affected, including users of Outlook Web Access, notably used by U.S. military branches (it is unclear if any servers used by the military were breached). This is yet another high profile example of the danger of overreliance on a singular protocol and the failure of centralized systems in protecting privacy and ensuring security. In the same 7 day period, the Akash ($AKT) mainnet 2 launched, providing a viable decentralized alternative to centralized cloud computing services. Akash’s capacity to leverage computer processing power from a global userbase creates a vastly more difficult target than individual clusters of servers. Where our network security goes from here is now a consequence of choice rather than technology. We either continue to use centralized systems and accept the occasional exploit or dare to decentralize and regain control of our information.
