HIVE was a coin of great expectations, a fork intended to defend the crypto community's values and freedoms against malicious behavior of some fat cat and his sidekicks. HIVE managed to get on its side the most of former STEEM-based projects. The future looked brilliant!
However, if we look at the charts, we can see that marketwise the price of HIVE is in a steady decline, against both USD and BTC. Currently, STEEM is traded higher than HIVE. I don't know why it is so, and I'm not sure that market price of a coin is its main value. But if a coin and its projects are so great as they say, it's kinda reasonable to expect the coin's price to go upwards, at least in small steps.
The Eclipse hardfork caused all exchanges to suspend their wallets for indefinite time. At BINANCE HIVE deposits and withdrawals are closed for a couple of weeks already, the same is at Hotbit. I didn't check others (Huobi, Upbit, Bittrex, etc), but if a coin has troubles at Binance -- it alone is enough to affect the coin quite negatively.
Fortunately, the Eclipse hardfork seems to be largely over. Everything went rather smoothly, as they say. I only hope, that renewed HIVE will gain more power in all directions.
