1000 Bitcoins (BTC), worth approximately $11.3 million, have been transferred out of a 10 year old Bitcoin wallet, as revealed by one trader who publicized the information on LinkedIn.
- The wallet containing the 1000 Bitcoins mined the asset in 2010, where it had remained since being transferred to a single address on October 11; there is no indication as to who owns the wallet
- At the time, their total value was around $80, with 1 BTC being roughly $0.08
- Kirill, the trader who brought attention to the transfer, also highlighted a 1000 BTC transfer made on March 11, saying that the exact 7 month difference seemed like “ too much for being a simple coincidence”
- He noted other patterns shared across the two transfers, pointing to a split between multiple BECH32 addresses in both cases, as well as a wallet receiving exactly 200 BTC on both occasions
