The total value of my Crypto portfolio the past 2 years would have been more if I just went all in on ETH

I'm wondering if this is the same for a lot of people, I'm sure there are many who's portfolio outperformed Ethereum, but it's developments and consequent gains (approximately 20X since 2 years ago September) have been quite remarkable. To put into perspective, Bitcoin went almost 8X over the same time span. Yes, yes I know, X or Y Crypto even outperformed ETH like eg Cardano who went approximately 50X from it's price 2 years ago or Quant who almost even went 75X, but Ethereum was always right there in front of us, just sitting there right in your face at nr 2 below Bitcoin and almost as well known, decentralized, trusted and secure.

It's not as if the monetary difference would have been that big, just marginal actually and I'm not ashamed or anything or considering it a failure, it's not all about profits, I'm proud to be apart of certain projects and some of which have outperformed ETH, others have simply not delivered. Then there's the parts that were failures. Anyone up for a laugh?

In June 2019, I was pondering whether or not to cut back on certain investments and just put it in ETH or BTC since I noticed the obvious bear market and that a -2% for Bitcoin was -10% for most Alts. At one point, I gave up on VeChain after about 8 months of hodling, just temporarily, to keep in ETH for a few weeks and get more gains out of it and then switch back to VeChain, since Ethereum had been making gains weekly despite the bear market and VeChain mostly stayed the same. Exactly, and I do mean exactly within the same minute I made the switch, this announcement was made:

It seemed like some sort of bad joke, at first when I saw VeChain rise about 5% and ETH stay stable I thought "yeah, whatever", but then it kept going up more and more. After a quick re-doing of my checks I did just before making the switch on their site and key social media accounts (yes I actually checked to make sure something like this wouldn't happen), I found my answers on Sunny Lu's Twitter. I haven't touched VeChain ever since??

Then there was the BINANCE de-listing saga. Some of my holdings made ok gains and I was thinking about converting some of that to BTC and keep the rest as a potential moonbag. For some reason I didn't and decided to hold on to it for another few months. I then saw the price drop significantly that very same week. After a quick check online, I found out why.

When these things happen, you consider yourself to be the unluckiest person around, till an even bigger jinx shows up that'll make you go "ok at least I'm not that????". I have an acquaintance who lost almost 100.000 Euros by investing into Doge in 2017. How you ask? He kept it all on an exchange and didn't care for it much anymore since the crash made it pretty much worthless, basically slashing his initial investment down to 1/4th. The exchange in question delisted Doge last year, and I think we all know what Doge's been doing this year. The exchange insist they contacted their users to withdraw the about to be delisted Doge, or else it would be lost and now claims it's just gone and there's nothing to be done about it??

These type of things happen I guess, but the question is, what do you do now? Do you cut loose those which have underperformed in comparison to ETH? Some might, some might have done so sooner, but to confirm, I actually believe in what I research and invest in. Yes it may not always work out as planned and many things are out of your hand, but I'm not giving up just because the monetary value isn't making headlines, I keep hodling till it either does or goes straight to 0 ?? No seriously, I just believe in it too much to drop them, I think their time will come and I'll be right there hodling when it finally does.
