How to mine for Proof-of-Stake coins

Do repost and rate:

Today I want to walk you through how to use your CPU or GPU to mine for coins your previously thought were not possible to mine for.

If you know me or have been around my articles for a while you know I like to dabble in mining for cryptocurrencies. I like the idea of an average Joe using his computer he already has to get free crypto (well free minus electrical costs and such). I have tried a whole lot of different mining solutions. The last one I tested out was NiceHash which I really liked. You can find that article if you are interested. But in the US, NiceHash only pays out in BTC which can be nice but is also limiting.

Today I introduce you to unMineable. What unMineable does is it let's you mine with your CPU or GPU with whatever algorithm works best for that specific hardware and then you can earn a specific crypto that you have chosen beforehand. For me it was a no-brainer. SHIB all the way. I am very bullish on SHIB and so any chance I can get to earn more of it I will take it.

So this guide will walk you through how to use unMineable to mine with your GPU for SHIB. You can however very easily mine with your CPU as well and for any of the other crypto's they offer.

For me the ones that stand out the most are:

Shiba Inu (SHIB)  *obviously*

Basic Attention Token (BAT)

Bitcoin Cash (BCH)

DogeCoin (DOGE)

Polygon Matic (MATIC)

**side note** I hope and I pray that they add THETA to this list because I would jump on that immediately.

It is interesting to note too that you can mine for Fantom (FTM) which is the same network as PUBLISH0X new tipping token Statera (STA). Something to consider.

What do you need to know before hand?

You can get paid out in any of the above crypto listed in the pictures. Some are able to pay out on multiple blockchains. Each crypto on each blockchain has a different minimum payout.

For example SHIB.

on the Ethereum Blockchain it is a 5,000,000 minimum payout. They recently raised it because well ETH gas prices are insane.

on the BSC Blockchain it is a 150,000 minimum payout.

on the KCC Blockchain it is a 150,000 minimum payout.

In that image you can see I have the "Kawpow" algorithm selected. I choose Kawpow because well I have already mined for Ravencoin with this particular GPU and it uses Kawpow and I know the hashrate that GPU will get with mining Kawpow. If you are unfamiliar you can go here https://whattomine.com/gpus and it will list out all the popular GPU's and what you can expect to earn/mine with each of them. It will show you the most cost effective coin/algorithm to mine for with it.

After 1 day of mining with a Nvidia GTX 1050 TI, I added my 2nd GTX 1050 TI. Then roughly a day after that I ended up switching my RTX 3060 over to this as well. Initially I had all 3 GPU's mining on the KawPow algorithm but I recently switch my 3060 from KawPow to Ethash. I know my RTX 3060 is more profitable mining for Ethereum then Ravencoin so I switched it.

I originally didn't want to because if you have multiple GPUs mining with different algorithms they don't show up nicely on the page like the below image but I figured making more crypto was worth the extra few button clicks to few live data.

In the image above you can see the pending balance at the top is 47,191.19285083 SHIB.

Directly underneath that you can see that you can select for it to "autopay once a day" but for people like us who don't have huge farming rigs we wouldn't get paid everyday anyway haha. I have left it unchecked for my first payout but after that I will be switching it over to auto-pay so I don't have to worry about it.

In the second red box in that image you can see 4 tabs.

Workers: This is what is selected in the image and it is where you can see the hashrate of your miners per algorithm.

Payments: This will show you your history of payouts.

Referral Code: This will show you your referral code (more on this later because it's important).

Stats: This will break down how much you make in a day, week, month and how much you've been paid and other stats.

In the 3rd red box is the various mining algorithms. At the heart of unmineable you are not mining for the coin you are getting paid in. For example my GPU's are mining for Ravencoin and Ethereum and I am getting paid in SHIB. So these algorithms you can see your miners that are mining those and how well they are doing.

How to start mining?

There are a few things you need first.

1) A Crypto wallet that can hold the crypto that you want to get paid in. I am not going to dive deep into this but if you have questions please ask.

2) A CPU or GPU that can mine cryptocurrency. Any recent GPU or CPU should be fine.

3) A computer that those CPU's and GPU's are hooked up too. Obviously.

4) The mining software.

Now numbers 1 through 3 I am not going to get into because well I don't have all month to cover every possible combination. So worst case scenario give it a try and if it doesn't work then it doesn't work haha.

But #4 is where I can help with. For this example I am mining with my RTX 3060 and I want to use the algorithm ETHASH and get paid out in SHIB (which is actually what I am doing).

You are going to need to download T-Rex Miner. There are others but I know for a fact T-Rex works great with my 1050's and my 3060.

In the above image on the right hand side you can see the 4 possible miners for Ethash that they have guides for. Click on T-Rex and it will bring you here: https://support.unmineable.com/how-to-setup-t-rex-for-gpu-mining/

It does a good job of walking through how to setup it up. Truly it is very simple to setup mining software. The hardest part might be your Windows Firewall settings.

There will be a .bat file when you download the T-Rex Miner. The .bat file is a "batch file" and it basically is a notepad document that tells your computer to run a certain set of commands. This .bat file just so happens to tell Windows to open the T-Rex miner and run it with a few guidelines.

Here is my .bat file

"C:\Users\User\Desktop\T-REX RAVENCOIN Miner\t-rex.exe" -a ethash -o ethash.unmineable.com:3333 -u SHIB:THISisWHEREyouPUTyourSHIBaddress.3060 -p x --autoupdate -d 0 --pl 80 --fan t:65 --mclock 1100 --lock-cclock 1500 --cclock 0

It will look different then yours because I have it saved to my desktop outside of the T-Rex folder. So yours should look more like this by default:

t-rex.exe -a ethash -o ethash.unmineable.com:3333 -u COIN:YOURADDRESS.WORKER_NAME

The part after "-a" defines what algorithm you are going to mine with.

The part after "-o" defines what server/pool you are going to connect to.

The part after "-u" defines the user (GPU/CPU) that you are using. In this case it also describes that we want to get paid in SHIB and what our SHIB address is

WorkerName is just so that if you have multiple systems all hooked up you can see how effective each are.

The part after "-p" is a password section and you can leave it as an "x"

So for those who are new to crypto mining your .bat file should look more like this:

In my initial .bat that I listed you can see other commands like "--fan t:65" or "--pl 80". I have tweaked my bat file to run my GPU's at a reduced mining power to save power and to save my GPU's from running too hot. If you see that your GPUs are running too hot then I HIGHLY recommend you add a command similar to the "--pl 80" which limits the max power to 80%. Play around with that command and numbers to get your GPU to the temp you want it at. I keep all my GPU's at or around 65 degrees.

And honestly once you have updated the coin you want to get paid in and that coin's address for your wallet you are ready to start mining for it. double click your bat file and it will open up T-Rex miner and start mining assuming there are no errors.

Once you have the software up and running it will look something like this:

Once yours looks something like this then go back to unmineable.com. Please note though that the mining software may take a minute or two to actually start mining. And also Unmineable may take a minute or two after that to update to show that you are actually mining for it.

**Also note once you download and setup T-Rex you HAVE to restart your computer. If you do not your Hashrate will greatly suffer**

How to get paid?

https://unmineable.com/coins/SHIB and enter your SHIB address in the box and hit enter:

That will take you to this screen:

You can see that my RTX 3060 mining the ETHASH algorithm is running around 23MH/s at the moment. That is great. Now you just have to wait until that amount at the top hits the 150,000 minimum threshold for SHIB. I am using BEP20 wallet (Trust Wallet) for my SHIB and not the Ethereum main blockchain so my minimum is 150,000. Once that number is above 150,000 you can lick on "payout now" and get paid!

I started writing this article as soon as I started using unmineable because I was so excited to show it all to you. However for my own due diligence I needed to wait until I got a pay out before I could recommend it to you all. Well that time has come. I have mined 160,000 + SHIB in the last week (technically it was less then a week but the stats in the site only show your mining for the past day/week/month.

I blacked out my pending balance so you all can't track my account :) But it was 160,XXX.XXXXXXXX SHIB. Once you are over the minimum threshold you can click on the blue "Payout now" button.

It will ask you for to click on "Yes, continue" if you want to go through with your payout. That is all you need to do to get paid. Then you just have to wait until you get the money money! It took me about 5 minutes until the payment showed up.

How to reduce Dev Fee of 1%

Unmineable how a system where by default it charges a 1% fee to all miners. You can however lower that to a reasonable 0.75% fee by using a referral code.

You don't have to use a referral code but if you do you yourself are personally saving 0.25%.

The person whose referral code you are using will also get 0.25% of what you mine. But it doesn't come out of your profits.

What happens is if you do not use a referral code then the 1% fee goes to the unmineable devs.

If you use a referral code then you only lose 0.75% for the dev fee.

Of that 0.75% though, 0.50% goes to the dev team. The other 0.25% goes to the person who referred you. So if you use a referral code you are making more crypto and the person who referred you is making more crypto. It honestly doesn't make any sense NOT to use a referral code.

If you want to try out unmineable I have a referral code you can use if you want: qzgl-2956 or https://unmineable.com/?ref=qzgl-2956

If you don't want to use a referral code and lose an extra 0.25% then go to https://unmineable.com/ and start mining.
