The top 10 gaming dapps in terms of user base, be it play-to-earn ones or gamified DeFi, have attracted more than 2 million unique active wallets in the past week. According to DappRadar data, these dapps have also brought in a massive amount of value in trading volume to the sector.
In the past seven days, the top 10 dapps in the DappRadar Games ranking attracted 2.45 million unique active wallets and generated more than $841 million in volume. This is a remarkable achievement for just the first several days of 2022.
Play-to-earn and GameFi are standing out as the major emerging sectors in the gaming industry. In 2021, close to half of all users in the blockchain industry have connected to a gaming dapp. Importantly, this trend continues strongly in the first week of 2022. Importantly, numerous gaming dapps saw significant user base growth.
New gaming dapps steal the spotlight
The overall impressive performance in the gaming category is undeniable. Another interesting trend shows that new gaming dapps are actively topping the charts. Emerging hits like the brand new Sunflower Farmers, and the already popular DeFi Kingdoms, and Crazy Defense Heroes are drawing in huge audiences.
Established play-to-earn platforms like Axie Infinity are the top-grossing apps in terms of volume. However, new gaming dapps draw in bigger user bases thanks to the novelty factor. Additionally, dapp developers start exploring more protocols like Harmony and Polygon. This allows more users to benefit from the play-to-earn experience.
