As we all know The Ethereum frontier network currently uses a proof of work (PoW) based consensus algorithm (soon a hybrid one), which means to be able to "mine it" you need a machine (powerful GPU/Asic) to do the job for you, which also means that you have to buy the right equipment (except you already have one ??).
