The operator of the Ethermine mining pool, Bitfly, announced the separation among the miners of the record 10,668 ETH ($ 2,385 million) received as a commission for sending 350 ETH after the transaction initiator did not contact.

“Since the sender of the transaction did not contact us within four days, which we consider to be a reasonable time, we made a final decision on the distribution of the received commission,” Bitfly said in a tweet.

Immediately after the transaction was validated with an unusually high reward, the mining pool operator immediately urged the sender to get in touch, considering his actions an error.

Bitfly stated that several applicants contacted the company, but none of them provided a true signature from the sender's wallet.

The company explained that the distribution of remuneration among the miners will be based on a hashrate image used to mine block 10241999 with the mentioned transaction. Currently 10,668 ETHs are equivalent to $ 2,385 million.

Representatives of the mining pool also noted that in the future there are no plans to take additional measures to search for senders of transactions with extremely high commissions.

“The payout policy announced by us suggests that we should always fully distribute block rewards. We will stick to it regardless of the amount, ”Bitfly noted.

Recall PeckShield analysts have put forward the hypothesis that the affected in a material transaction is related to the extortion hacker who received partial access to the hot purse Exchange.
