Hyundai’s recent unveiling of the Prophecy EV has generated a lot of excitement among the masses. While the car is still some distance away from launch, we’re learning about a feature that may prove to be a game-changer in the industry. While electric cars, including the Hyundai Prophecy, have practically no emissions from the tailpipe, a new report suggests that the car may be able to clean the air outside it, thus curbing air pollution to a great extent.
Hyundai has mentioned that it has a filtration system that can clean both the air inside the vehicle as well as outside. The company could use the Smart Air Purification system which has been showcased by the company but not confirmed for use in any production vehicle so far. This is also said to be more energy-efficient compared to the existing methods available in the market. The company mentions that filtration could be done while the car is being driven, or during idling or charging.
Traditional air ventilation systems are not applicable to the Prophecy since its windows cannot open. This should also help the vehicle get its aesthetic and aerodynamic appeal, making the job easier for the company’s engineers. With Tesla introducing features like Dog Mode in its vehicles, it’s likely that Hyundai will draw some inspiration from that and build on it.
