With the increasing presence of COVID-19 guidance issued on March 16 by President Donald Trump, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), has officially listed distributed LEDGER technology (DLT) as the critical infrastructure services required to effectively decrease the spread of the virus, as such as, blockchain managers as “Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers” are estimated to maintain their normal work schedule.

According to President Trump COVID-19 guidance states that those who are still working in critical infrastructure industries such as healthcare, food supply chain, pharmaceuticals, and others are anticipated to maintain their normal work schedule, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, a part of the United States Department of Homeland Security have listed blockchain managers in food and agricultural supply chain as critical infrastructure workers.

CISA believes that they have managed to build initial stage of “Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers” to help local and state officials as are contributing to make the communities secure while ensuring continuity of functions crucial in terms of public safety, national security, and economic. The list can also alert with segments, critical functions, and sub-segments that should continue. These activities should remain constant with an intention to modify Centers for Disease Control (CDC) workforce and customer protection guidance.

A number of U.S. based top organizations including Twitter, Google, and Amazon have processed the formalities of giving work-at-home policies for their employees. The new listing would probably help the activities to prioritize for the continuity of incident operations and responses. This includes the appropriate movement of critical infrastructure workers and jurisdictions.

CISA has made their decision that the new list of Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers is extremely helpful and it may not seem like a federal directive or standard.

Reportedly, over 35,070 cases has been recorded in the United States nation, among 458 people died and 178 are recovered from the infection.

Blockchain technology’s behavior is completely different in terms of finance across the globe. The powering real-time cost-efficient cross-border payments, the nascent technology is quite instrumental in supply chain and logistics.
