In August 2020, XYO foundation launched a Geotoken NFT. NFT stands for non-fungible token, and they are digital collectibles. They are unique and specific to a particular owner.
The XYO World NFT is a digital representation of real places in the real world. Owning this geotoken means you own property in a digital sense within the XYO World. Each geotoken consists of quadtiles that are permanently tied to real places assigned within the XYO world system. A quadtile is a square on the world map that shows the boundary of what has been claimed by the owner of the geotoken. For example, if you buy downtown Brooklyn, NY, you have claimed downtown Brooklyn and that will never change since it is always associated with the blockchain address you bought it with.
You can keep your geotoken, or trade them. Activities on your geotoken have the potential of bringing you profit in the future. These NFTs will also be useful for development purposes in the future.
