It is also the result of Oasis’s mainnet only being live for a few months and its dapp ecosystem still developing. Again, not a negative point as it means room for innovation is vast on Oasis Network.
We’ve seen blockchain games rise to dominate the blockchains they chose to run on in these last 12 months. DeFi Kingdoms is a prime example of a dapp that’s found real traction on a network away from Ethereum. By leveraging its first-mover advantage, DeFi Kingdoms holds more than 60% of the total value locked on Harmony, a feat that could be potentially replicated on Oasis Network.
Fast transactions & low costs
Transactions on Oasis reach finality in a matter of seconds while gas fees are about $0.15, a figure far more in line with current financial payment system fees such as Visa and Mastercard. Moreover, a far cry from Ethereum, where fees reached as high as $100 in 2022. Moreover, even with the arrival of ETH 2.0, gas fees won’t reduce massively, so developers still need to look elsewhere.
To further highlight the point about fast and cheap transactions being vital to a blockchain game, the number of transactions completed by users of Harmony’s leading GameFi dapp DeFi Kingdoms is below. In the last seven days, it processed 2.1 million transactions, while ViperSwap, the network’s leading DEX, processed just 8,000 in that timeframe.
Future Security
If the digital space is to mirror the physical one day, users will need all the security features they rely on in the real world. Oasis is the first network to support confidential smart contracts. The Oasis Eth/WASI Runtime is an open-source example of a confidential ParaTime that uses secure enclaves to keep data private while being processed. Ten successful projects will be chosen and supported with $50,000 in ROSE and marketing and business development support to make sure the project stays on track.
