Polkadot, a network that encourages and allows other investors to create their own crypto has grown over 600% in 1 year after a launch in 2020. It was founded by Gavin Wood (a co-founder of Ethereum) alongside co-founders Peter Czaban and Robert Habermeier in 2016.
To begin, Polkadot is designed to operate two type of blockchains. 1. A main network - called a relay chain, where transactions are permanent, and 2. user-created networks, called Parachains.
To date, Polkadot has raised roughly $200 million from investors across the sales of its cryptocurrency(DOT); it is one of the most well-funded blockchain project.
It is highly possible DOT will continue to grow in the near future with a market cap of 33 billion.
