Why I Migrated from Noise.cash to Noise.app

As @achim03 has pointed out in a post earlier today, it seems that noise.app will become the eventual replacement for noise.cash -- essentially a stripped-down Twitter clone that rewards Bitcoin Cash for posting quality "noise." Now, in my experience at noise.cash, it became flooded not only with bots but repetitive, low-effort content. Great efforts are being taken on the new .app site to ensure this doesn't happen.

For one, instead of relying on different "streams" or "channels" to generate what you see on your main timeline, content will only be shown from people you follow. This is actually both a good and bad thing. It's good in that it prevents spam and unwanted content. It's bad because if you're just getting started out, you won't really get any eyeballs on your posts until you start getting followers. I suppose the best way to remedy that is to start befriending others. In this way, it actually makes it more like a real-world social network.

There is an 'explore' feature where you can peruse others' feeds whom you aren't friends with and find some good content that way. The new noise.app is definitely a lot more effort than the old noise.cash but it looks like it will become smoother and much cleaner the way things are setup now. As of right now, there is no "free tip" monetization but you can add your wallet addresses for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Bitcoin Cash to start accepting donations. You can even link your PayPal account, if you're still using that.

As of right now, noise.app is only open to sign-ups through invitation. Since @achim03 so kindly got me onto the platform by posting an invite link in his article, I feel it necessary to pay it forward and share my invite link here too if anyone wants to check out and see what noise.app is all about - https://noise.app/invite/3sxgqlrk
