My YouTube channel has over subscribers and has garnered over 2.2 million views overall but in the about section it shows 1.8 million views because I deleted many videos over the decade plus period.
Since November 2022 I have published a grand total of 229 videos which mostly constituted of Long Form videos but in the month of February 2023 I started posting lots of Short form content called “YouTube Shorts” to test the YouTube Shorts adsense monetization effect to see whether it is worth it or not.
In this blog post ill be discussing how YouTube Shorts Monetization in February 2023 really affected me to stop producing content on YouTube of late.
YouTube Shorts Monetization Update February 2023

I was pretty excited for this news and hence decided to work hard on my YouTube channel creating content consistently. My earnings in January 2023 on YouTube were 21 dollars considering I did not receive much traffic on my YouTube videos. But still my YouTube channel was growing steadily and I was hoping that this new earning opportunity in February 2023 from YouTube would be a game changer for me.
Testing YouTube Shorts After The New Monetization Update

But here is where things get really interesting, when I checked my revenue for February 2023 it said I made only a mere 0.04 cents on my “YouTube Shorts” videos. Meaning that 5,000 plus views on my YouTube shorts videos gave me a mere 0.04 dollars this really disheartened me to continue my journey on YouTube as my expectations were given a huge pounding by YouTube.
My Future As A Content Creator On YouTube

Hence I will continue to create Medium related videos which will include news, tutorials, how-to’s and even Interviews as well.
In the month of February 2023 I have made 17.11 Dollars which is not bad considering I did not produce consistent content and also did not focus on marketing as well.
Releasing My YouTube Guide On Amazon Kindle

Katy Ramm not only told me about it but also guided me about the “Amazon Kindle” platform where I could simply publish my book without any hassle.

My main objective releasing the book on Amazon Kdp was to get my medium account approved with verified tick mark so I have already applied for that. But the reason I had to include this task which I performed was that my YouTube experience helped me create a whole “Book” meaning it gave me the knowledge to be able to complete this monumental task which I am really proud of.
