Brazil is in the 13th position globally, being the largest market in Latin America.

The first videogames manufactured in Brazil were in the Pong style, in the late 70's. The title of the first console manufactured and distributed in Brazil belongs to TVBol, a small PONG with four games manufactured in Rio de Janeiro in 1976. to the market as the most successful Telejogo 1 and 2 by Philco/Ford, as well as TvJogo3 and 4 by Superkit and Videorama manufactured in Porto Alegre.

TVBOL was sold in Brazil, by Eletronic do Brasil, in the 70's. There is a theory that this video game was sold in Brazil in big stores before Telejogo. I found it for sale on the free market worth R$ 6,000 but it was damaged and no longer working. It is a rarity to find one of these in perfect condition.

In 1961 Ford bought Philco (Philadelphia Storage Battery Company) which initially operated producing automotive batteries. The Ford-Philco division was fundamental for the arrival of Telejogo in Brazil in 1977, and it cost 1,600 Cruzeiros (converting to reais it would be more or less R$ 1,150.00).

Telejogo was inspired by the so-called Pong machines that were originally created by Atari. Its catalog had three games, namely Paredao, Tennis and Football.

It basically consisted of strokes that went up or down to bounce a square and the control was done through a dial.

I looked on the internet for sale, and found many for sale in used condition for approximately R$ 500 reais.

Faced with the success of Telejogo, Ford-Philco launched Telejogo II in 1979. The device also bet on a finish that mixed wood and metal, but it differed by betting on individual controls detached from the body of the console that, in addition to an analog stick, have one button each. A total of 10 games were launched, consumers could choose between Hockey, Paredao I, Paredao II, Basketball I, Basketball II, Football, Barrier, Target Shooting I and Target Shooting II.

With the success of Telejogo, and the growing number of video game fans, many companies bet on the follow-up. Superkit brought devices such as TV-Jogo 3, TV-Jogo 4, TV-Jogo Formula 1 and TV-Jogo Motocross to the national market — all of them having the common element of offering a number of games that could not be increased unless buying another console model. TV-Jogo 3's biggest differential is its appearance and its 2 individual controls, which are dials attached to bases integrated into the console by a wire. Its housing is made of plastic and has an almost square rectangular shape. It has 2 buttons, the game selector and the reset one, and 2 switches, Training/Game and On/Off.

Superkit was the electronics company that manufactured a simpler version of the components of the Pong series of games. Like the companies Eletron and Saber, they were more homemade and used the opportunity to freely copy the layout of the electronic boards, reconfiguring the Telejogo games.
