What a big week it has been in cryptocurrency. China continues its crypto crackdown even in areas where the mining is powered by clean renewable energy while Elon flip flops once again and reverses course stating that Tesla may indeed accept BTC as payment once more. On top of that, we've got big changes coming to PUBLISH0X and a few gaming updates to cover.
BTC Saga Continues
The continued Bitcoin price slide is one of the biggest topics of the week. On the 13th of June, Elon tweeted that Tesla would consider allowing BTC payments once ~50% of the energy usage from BTC was derived from clean energy sources.
Not surprisingly, prices of BTC started trending upwards reaching a price over 40,000 USD before continuing to slide right back down. On the 20th of June, it was announced that authorities in the Sichuan providence of China were shutting down more BTC mining operations. Although the Chinese crackdown on BTC has been ongoing for a while now, many people thought that Sichuan authorities would take a more lenient approach as most of the BTC mined in that area is powered by clean, renewable hydroelectric power. Despite the use of clean power, mining operations in Sichuan were shut down leading many miners scrambling to move elsewhere.
And seemingly out of nowhere, the mayor of Miami announces that the city would be more than welcome to embrace miners and help provide them with access to cheap, clean nuclear energy.
Gaming Updates
For some more lighthearted news Alien Worlds recently announced the 6 month anniversary of the metaverse. It's hard to believe that AW has been a game for only 6 months, and although we are all excited for new features such as the Thunderdome and Planet BINANCE missions, its always helpful to put into perspective that AW is still a relatively new game and that things take time to develop.
As I write this post, Colonize Mars is in the process of launching their Mission Two phase of operations in which more crates and NFTs will be sold for the space colonization blockchain game. The details of the pack sale and updates are being slowly released over the period of a couple days, so its best to follow their Twitter to stay up to date. One thing that we do know for certain is that anyone who holds a sketch card will automatically get TWO dark matter cards AND a guaranteed Mission Two crate with 80% chance of that being a base level crate and 20% chance at a higher tier crate.

For those of you who haven't heard, there will be some MAJOR updates coming to the Publish0x crypto blogging platform soon. The team recently announced that tips will be reduced by 50% and that ETH will no longer be given as a tipping token. If you want to withdraw your ETH from the site, this must be done before June 28th, or your remaining balances will be converted to AMPL. The team will also have stricter quality standards and begin cracking down more on low quality, spammy posts which is a good thing in my opinion. Lastly, the team pointed out that we can expect to see more ads on the site, so be prepared for that as well.
