Rumors about cryptocurrency in Grand Theft Auto VI
Rumors that the next Grand Theft Auto VI would include cryptocurrencies and nonfungible tokens have resurfaced, causing fans to speculate.
According to Twitter posts, GTA 6 will be a play-to-earn game with in-game things like as vehicles and weaponry becoming NFTs.
Rockstar Games has yet to comment on whether these accusations are true, but there appears to be little substantial proof to back them up.
In November of last year, the firm tightened down on the use of cryptocurrency in GTA, sending stop and desist letters to companies running public servers with blockchain interfaces – a setback to numerous game developers who had developed their games on the platform.

Given that GTA 5 has sold over 180 million copies and produced a whopping $8 billion in sales since its debut in 2015, it is doubtful that Rockstar will dramatically modify the franchise's lucrative formula, with the following iteration coming next year or in 2025.
Of course, there may be a crypto aspect, but it could not be the one that crypto dudes seek. According to Game Rant, Rockstar Games is more likely to utilize cryptocurrency as the butt of its in-game gags.
Doctor Who and Top Gear have joined The Sandbox
Doctor Who and Top Gear, both renowned BBC shows, will enter the metaverse via The Sandbox after striking a partnership with the virtual world platform.
The space will be launched later this year as a result of a collaboration with Web3 business Reality+.
While the metaverse is still in its infancy, Nicki Sheard, president of brands and licensing at BBC Studios, believes that it will change how we consume and experience entertainment in the future.

"I'm excited to see how fans interact with our brands in this space." This project is part of BBC Studios' larger ambitious aims to expand our brands into new sectors, with innovative technologies and platforms playing an important role," she explained.
BBC Studios, a commercial production organization under the BBC umbrella, will join The Sandbox's 400 other entertainment companies, which include Warner Music Group, Ubisoft, Gucci, The Walking Dead, and Adidas.
STEPN has integrated Apple Pay into its NFTs
App for earning money by moving about STEPN has added an in-app Apple Pay payment option to its game, making it easier to purchase NFTs.
Users will be able to acquire SPARK credits using fiat, with ten spark credits equaling one USDC, which can subsequently be used to purchase NFTs.
"It eliminates the need to connect a separate crypto wallet and streamlines the payment process, making it easier than ever for our community to access our offerings," STEPN wrote on Medium.

The hitch is that purchasing shoes with fiat will be more expensive, which STEPN credits to "taxation" on each in-app transaction.
Onboarding has traditionally been a barrier to greater Web3 game acceptance, and STEPN is no different. Its onboarding procedure is time-consuming, and users must purchase their NFTs from a marketplace and transfer them into the in-wallet app (determining which one is best for you is an effort in and of itself).
However, the corporation may have more in the works to make onboarding smoother.
"Our integration with Apple Pay is just the beginning of our vision to make Web3 technology accessible to all," the company explained.
The Battle of Titans developer competition returns for a second season
MatchboxDAO's Battle of Titans Web3 racing game returns for a second season this week.
Dev teams from over 60 Web3 firms, including Immutable, Starknet, and Fantom, will compete in a totally on-chain Mario Kart-style game beginning June 4.

Each car is a smart contract that must be programmed to reach the finish line while attacking and protecting against other players utilizing bananas, shells, and shields.
The inaugural round of the game, held in January, featured teams from Ledger, Polygon, Near, Yield Guild Games, and others, with Uniswap emerging as the champions.
The upcoming season will also have a community component in which viewers may vote for their favorite team.
The Captain Tsubasa Web3 game introduces a governance token
Captain Tsubasa — Rivals, a football game inspired on the iconic manga Captain Tsubasa, has announced the release of a governance token.
The game was released in January by Web3 businesses Thirdverse Group and BLOCKSMITH&Co. Players may train characters from the manga and compete in bouts.
Shun Fujiyoshi, the current CEO of BLOCKSMITH&Co, stated that multiple procedures are in place to keep utility tokens valuable.
"These measures include in-game consumption points and mechanisms to control price fluctuations caused by speculative trading," he stated.
Yoichi Takahashi created the first Captain Tsubasa manga in 1981, and it has sold 70 million copies in Japan alone. It has been translated into more than 20 other languages.
Illuvium secures an extra $10 million in finance
Framework Ventures has made a $10 million investment in game studio Illuvium, which will be used to speed the development of the Illuvium Universe.
Illuvium, located in Australia, stated that the additional capital will provide them with a comfortable runway through the open beta launch and beyond.
It is preparing an open beta for its city builder Zero, open-world monster hunter Overworld, and auto battler Arena in the near future.
In March 2021, the firm secured $5 million in a seed round led by Framework Ventures. It also made $72 million from an NFT land transaction last June.
