WAXP: The Juggernaut of Blockchain Gaming

Do repost and rate:

One of a few Competitors fighting to take the top spot of the Blockchain Gaming King of the Hill competition. One of the longest standing competitors in this space has always been Ethereum, granted its' long standing in the Community. WAXP, or WAX is one that is taking the scene by storm, especially with recent developments being made by various development teams.

The one big plus factor to WAX over ETH is the ability to complete transactions at a more consistent cheap rate; with your requirements for RAM being so slim to function comfortably in any of the current Blockchain Games on the WAX market. RAM is reserved per account, using a Staking method that is accessible through the WAX main network or through your Account directly on AtomicHub

Wen stake?

Generally speaking, If you are not a creator of NFTs and solely use WAX for Gaming purposes there would be almost 0 reason for your account to need more than roughly 30 WAX staked directly to your RAM, maybe split a little between your CPU. But with that being said, at .21 cents a Coin, 30 WAX is nothing compared to what transactions can skyrocket to on the ETH platform.

WAX games are strong within their Staking abilities. The feeling of your NFTs having increased value, providing you in-game tokens depending upon the Game played is satisfying to say the least. These tokens can be directly transferred to WAX using a swap exchange such as the Taco App (in Beta on iOS Testflight) or used to progress your standing in game. This thought process, the concept of being paid to play a game is revolutionary for the gaming world. Even just the idea that your owning of pieces or the game itself will accrue you a currency in game that have real value. Granted, I understand staking is not exclusive to WAX, but the way that WAX does it and the ease of access is phenomenal. As well, Yes most of these games you must acquire the NFT to begin which requires an initial investment. Though with that said, the market is dictated by people. People are unpredictable, and I have seen panic sellers drop beautiful pieces from games that have tons of utility, for less than floor value, so it all evens out I suppose.

A beautiful trend happening more commonly than not within the community as well, is the lack of a need to hold your staked NFTs in a pool separate from your inventory. Developers are creating their programs to log and analyze the traffic, rather than retain the NFT. This gives the Collector and player more security, knowing their NFT can't just get lost in Transaction purgatory.

A few notable games + a little about them:

RPlanet - Crafting Game using the in game currency Aether. The main appeal is the constant accrual of this currency through staked NFTs. R-Planet has their own NFTs and partnered NFTs, adding additional value to other works on the market. Had a very strong Phase 1, with it being in a slight decline as of late. In my unprofessional opinion, I will be swooping all Cheap Mining Rigs in site, As they are still moving forward with Phase 2.

WAXArena - Still in early development, with a lot of great partnered projects on board from the WAX blockchain. You will be able to choose a Character by race and type, level up, equip weapons and fight other opponents in an Arena style turn based combat I believe. Great time to Get in on the action, Cheap to acquire. Holding Partnered cards allows for the accrual of AEXP.

NovaRally - Choose a Car, and 2 drivers to represent you in a race with other opponents and their setups. Races cost SNAKOIL, an in game currency. Your Races are tracked on the NFTs of the Car and Drivers. Winners of each race receive a nominal prize.

Oliveland - Simple staking Game at this stage. Collect various trees, plotting them on Virtual Land. Each hour these trees will build up OLV for you to claim and swap over to WAX. Less of a Game and more a tool at this time, but they are in developments to bring more of a game aspect to it. Details TBA.

Clashdome- If you're a fan of minor Blockchain Gambling, look no further. Tournament Style gaming, betting entry fees, on 3 different game modes. 1 Tower Defense, 1 Candy Crush Clone, 1 Game called Templok which I can just describe as "FreeForm Tetris"... Like Tetris that doesn't include falling bricks. Kind of wild. You are also able to do 1 v 1 duels, for less of a WAX entry fee. Each Duel awards you Ludio for competing, their in game currency.

GreenRabbit- This one has been a bit lost in terms of development updates, but their currency for staking has currently maintained value. With GreenRabbit, you acquire Flashdrives, fill them with specific NFTs, and then these staked full flash drives will earn you their currency SHELL. At this point, I don't believe there is any Game aspect. A good feeder for your other currencies or just stack some WAX.

Uplift - Minecraft and NFTs? Really fun for fans of the game before Blockchain integration, and even attracts those that aren't a fan of the franchise. They have plenty of different Worlds, 2 Creative with the other 5 I believe, being Survival Worlds. In the Creative, you are able to treat it almost like Decentraland or CryptoVoxels, and display Images. You can use it to make an explorable gallery of your liking for your NFT collection, or just create a cool space to visit. The Uplift World runs of Upliftium, holding certain miners that you can earn will accrue you this currency over time, or you may earn it in game through various requirements.

WaxTycoon- Probably the easiest Game out of the bunch, this one is a bonified Idle Game. All you do is upgrade an area, it builds you coin, upgrade again, rinse repeat.

What's cool, with you not having to do squat, you can just upgrade some stuff, forget about it, come back and do it all again. When you prestige in game after reaching a certain upgrade milestone, you earn in game GEMS. These GEMS can be sold/swapped on Alcor for WAX :)

I'm looking forward to dissecting these games further and more in depth later!
