Vitalik Buterin's Concerns

Vitalik Buterin created Ethereum in 2014. You may call him Ethereum CEO but since crypto is decentralized, we refer to him as creator or founder. If you treat Ethereum as a company, it worths near $400 billion nowadays. The creator had concerns about Ethereum’s future.

Ethereum may work for the rich again

The first of his concern is that Ethereum had built up a culture that possible work for the rich again. Although the technology comes from the fear of centralization and existing domination from the rich, some communities are discussing their branding compare to high-end brands like Loius Vuitton. Such a comparison may be a joke, but it may reflect some old ideas about getting rich to dominate society without any consideration of the poor.

Ethereum 2.0 is still testing

Even though Ethereum is moving to 2.0, it does not mean it will automatically become successful. There may be benefits of Proof of Stake, it may also have some unforeseen difficulties because no one ever uses Proof of Stake on such a large scale as Ethereum does.

Bitcoin Proof of Work is fundamentally fault

Vitalik believes that Proof of Work is an old idea that reinvents itself into the new technology. It is costly and inefficient. At some point, it will not continue working as it should and it needs to be replaced with a better solution. 

The true meaning of crypto

Vitalik believes that crypto is a system change to become more freedom for each one. Everyone can have a chance to anticipate equally and fairly. No one is better than the other. Crypto serves everyone and no one has the domination to control or manipulate crypto.

In conclusion

With massive adoption is coming, we still need to aware of the true meaning of crypto and what it continues to serve everyone equally.
