Hollywood star Val Kilmer has announced Kamp Kilmer, a web3 experience that will include a dedicated Kilmer world in Somnium Space. The official teaser revealed by Somnium Space shows a deserted filming set. It includes some iconic props from Val Killmer movies like the infamous Batmobile.
According to the teaser announcement, the Kamp Kilmer virtual world will pay homage to all Val Kilmer’s artistic activities. This, of course, includes his numerous movies. The Somnium team has worked hard to recreate important items and moments from Kilmer’s extensive list of Hollywood successes.
Aside from the virtual world in Somnium Space, Kamp Kilmer also serves as a wider collaborative web3 project for artists. The official website reveals numerous NFT collections and side projects. All of them tie together into a diversified Val Kilmer web3 experience.
Val Kilmer embraces web3
Val Kilmer has made a dashing entry into the web3 space. Kamp Kilmer will host a wide variety of artistic projects created and inspired by the movie star. Impressively, since the beginning of March, Kilmer has already announced several NFT projects, collaborating with various people in the digital art space, including Remo Camero.
They named the first Val Kilmer NFT collection to launch under the Kamp Kilmer brand Love Heals Collage. The project, made in collaboration with Camero, represents a collage of Kilmer’s massive scrapbooks, assembled from advertising, celebrity press, and art books and catalogs. In addition, Kilmer will add personal objects, ranging from headshots, and call sheets to old wallets and fan gifts. The NFTs in the Love Heals Collage collection sold out fast, and are now available on OpenSea. Impressively, collectors only had to pay gas fees in order to acquire a Love Heals Collage NFT.
Up next for Val Kilmer and Kamp Kilmer is the God Panels project. This NFT collection will likely drop in April. God Panels needs to become a huge collaborative work. Importantly, members of the Kamp Kilmer community will be able to contribute to the God Panels project.
According to the official God Panels page, owners of a God Panels Genesis NFT will be able to forge two pieces together to create a third derivative piece. Alternatively, artists will be able to “collaborate upon” a Genesis piece, creating a separate, new art piece, which incorporates their own artistic style and vision.
Focus on community and collaboration
From the very start of the Kamp Kilmer experience, the movie star has made it clear that collaboration and community involvement are key to this project. The official Kamp Kilmer Discord server offers members the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the Val Kilmer experience.
Importantly, the Discord server also hosts Val’s Cabin, a channel where fans and community members ask Val Kilmer questions. This virtually infinite Q&A session sheds light on Val Kilmer’s personal views and aspirations, especially regarding the future of the Kamp Kilmer project.
