New to Upland?

Before I get started on how to stake your SPARK, I will cover some important tips. So, if this is your first time hearing about Upland I have left a link to my Tutorial below so feel free to check that out.

Another important tip before signing up to Upland, is to sign up to a gaming platform called WOMPLAY or Wombat Wallet and then register with Upland through this. This is a really good platform and you will earn crypto just for playing Upland. I have left the link for signing up and my Tutorial video in the description below, so this is definitely worth a watch.

SPARK is an in-game token that can be used to build different types of structures on your property. You can also stake your SPARK on other people’s properties and earn UPX as a reward for doing this.

There are multiple ways to earn SPARK, this can be from levelling up your status, for example from “Uplander” to “Pro”, earning it through the login bonus, buying it during SPARK week or finding it in treasure chests when you are hunting for treasure.

If you are not sure how to treasure hunt, check out my tutorial below as I cover exactly what you need to do and this should hopefully help you understand how hunting works.

How Do You Find Your SPARK?

It is important to note that before you can earn SPARK, you need to be fully verified. To do this click on the 3 dots at the bottom of the screen and then select “settings” and go to “Verify My Identity” (see pic below) and follow the on-screen instructions. In my experience, this took only 3 days however during busy times it can take up to 7 days.

Let’s say you have now earned some SPARK, to see your balance, click on your Explorer icon in the top left. A menu will open up and if you scroll down a bit you will see your Spark balance where it tells you how much you have and what you have staked. This is quite a useful section as you can unstake your SPARK quickly and easily if you wish to stake it to another property.

How Do You Stake SPARK?

There are 2 Exchanges I use to stake my SPARK and I will cover both. Each one has a slightly different structure and layout. I will go over the first Exchange now.

UPX SPARK Exchange

This Exchange is my favourite one out of the 2 that I use, it is also the most popular so when you come to stake your SPARK you need to be pretty quick as the properties get chewed up quickly. To sign up go to https://upx-spark.exchange/ and click on “Sign Up” in the top right. It will bring up this page (see pic), fill in the form to register and complete the captcha.

If you are not sure how to find your EOS ID, go back to Upland and click on your Explorer icon in the top left to bring up your profile. Click on your Status and then select “View Uplander Status” and then click on the EOS ID. This will bring up your account on the EOS chain, to copy your ID click on this button (see pic) here and then go back to the form on the Exchange and paste it into the correct box.

Once you are all set up and registered, you will see a list of different sections on the left. Let’s start with staking your SPARK. Click on “Rent Your SPARK” and select “Live Listings”. This will bring up a list of available properties to stake on. Here you can see all the stats (see pic) you need for the property you are staking on, for example, the property address, how much UPX per hour you earn per 1 SPARK, how much is left to stake and how long the project has left till completion.

To stake your SPARK on one of the properties, you can go directly to it by clicking on the link icon on the right, however this requires you to login again on Upland. I prefer to copy the address, head back to Upland and click on the magnifying glass in the bottom right (see pic).

Paste the address into the search box and click on the property that appears in the list, usually it is the first one. This will take you to the property if you click on it, a menu will appear. You can double check the username on the Exchange if you wish to, this way you know that it is the correct property. Click on this icon here (see pic) to show more options and then select “Contribute”, click on “Contribute to Construction”, in the box type in how much you would like to stake and then click “Stake your Spark”.

This will add your SPARKk to the property and will register in about 5-10 seconds on the Exchange. So if you go back to the Exchange, click on “My Rented Spark” and refresh the page it should then show you staked SPARK balance and how much you are receiving per hour.

What I like about this Exchange is when you unstake your SPARK before the construction is complete, your balance is automatically updated. The other Exchange I use doesn’t do this, so if you unstake before completion you will need to wait until the building is complete before your UPX is added to your total balance.

If I click on withdraw, you can see the total UPX balance here (see pic) and this highlighted message below tells you that you need a minimum of 3k UPX to make a withdrawal. There are fees when it comes to withdrawing, for this Exchange it is 15%, personally I am happy paying this as it is a really good site and very easy to use. Withdrawals are processed daily and paid straight into your Upland Account. There is also a Discord server you can join, if you have any issues you can speak directly to the owner of the site. I will now go over the other Exchange I use.

UPXPLORER

This Exchange is called UPXPLORER, it works in a similar way to UPX SPARK Exchange. To sign up, go to upxplorer.me and click on “Register” in the top right. Type in your in-game name (IGN) and then you will have to verify your account by putting one of your properties up for sale. This step takes 1 minute to do, copy the address it's asking you to sell, go to Upland, click on the magnifying glass, paste the address into the box and select the property from the list. You will go directly to your property, from here click on “Sell” and then select “UPX”. In the “Set Price'' box, type or paste the exact amount UPXPLORER was asking. Click on “Offer for Sale”, confirm this and then head back to UPXPLORER and refresh the page. You should now be verified and ready to stake your SPARK.

To find available properties to stake your SPARK on, click here (see pic) where it says “Spark Market” and it will bring up available contracts.

Unfortunately, you can’t filter them by Full and not Full so hopefully they change that in the future. Try and find a contract that still needs SPARK, for example like this one here (see pic).

Once you have found a property and you want to stake your SPARK, it is exactly the same process as I showed you earlier. After you have staked, it takes 3-5 minutes for your stake to register under “overview” so don’t panic, it will show up.

I have noticed that the UPX rate for staking is slightly less than what you get on the other Exchange, so my advice would be to concentrate on the other one first and if you have no contracts available there. This is when you come over to this Exchange and find a contract, there always seems to be contracts available here.

To withdraw you need to have a minimum of 3k UPX in your balance. You can find your balance in the top right. Click on “Withdraw”, type in how much you want to withdraw and this will be paid within 24 hours to your Upland account. Notice here that the fees come to a total of 10%, this is less than UPX Spark Exchange, however the UPX per hour rate is slightly less.

I will let you decide which Exchange is best for you, I just wanted to cover both of these to give you an idea of the available options. Let me know in the comment section below which Exchange you prefer and why. If you haven’t already, please like, comment and follow my Blog, thanks for reading and I’ll see you in the next one.
