Upcoming NFT Drop: Particlon, The First Project by Charged Particles

Do repost and rate:

I’ve spent some time looking at upcoming NFT mints to dive into following my last entry on Tubby Cats and two projects caught my eye, but one of them is already minted - GRAYCRAFT. I will probably take a closer look into it next, but before that, I wanted to drop a few words on another project since it’s not yet minted and I find it interesting to try and get into.

As the title reads, I’m talking about Particlon - the first generative NFT project of Charged Particles.

Before I dive in, if you’ve liked my content so far and you wish to support me, a follow on Twitter would be much appreciated.

Don’t worry, I’m not new to crypto, it’s just a fresh account that I want to devote to providing as much value as I can.

Anyways, let’s start unpacking Particlon.

What is Particlon?

As mentioned above, Particlon is a generative NFT collection that will contain a total of 10,069 (for the culture, of course) NFTs and we already got some sneak-peaks and they look pretty slick if you ask me. More on that later.

Generative art refers to art that’s been created through the use of an autonomous, non-human system that can independently determine certain features of the artwork. This doesn’t mean that there’s no human participation, though.

Now, what we know until now is that the Particlon universe contains three worlds (or planets), four species (here, we still don’t know what these species are), and will produce a total of 10,069 avatars.

The worlds have been introduced. These are the three planets of Ignisis, Terrasonia, and Hydroluna. There’s also a world where the avatars are Bonded.

Ignisis is described as a “blazing planet erupting with magma and flames.” The particlons who are native to this scorched hell have managed to evolve in a way that allows them to withstand the glaring flares of Ignisis - the planet that emanates both light and warmth for the entire planetary system. This is what a particlon from Ignisis looks like:

This is the first sneak peek of the avatars from Ignisis and I hope you can now agree with me in that they look pretty slick.

Terrasonia

This planet bursts with florals, foliage, and is densely green because of it. This shouldn’t be mistaken for weakness, though - much of the vegetation is poisonous. Particlons who are native to this planet might seem harmless but are evolved to live in complete sync with the toxins that lurk around every corner and with every touch.

We haven’t had the chance to peek at an avatar from Terrasonia yet, but I’m sure one is coming soon.

Hydroluna

Hydroluna is a water-based planet riddled with crystalline glaciers and stormy seas. The particlons who originate from here have mastered the capabilities to transcend molecular entirety and demonstrate their affinity for the bonds of hydrogen and oxygen. This is what we’ve got the chance to peek at so far:

Bonded Avatars

As I mentioned above, Bonded particlons are powerful beings that carry attributes from each planet. This is what their native world looks like:

Moreover, bonded avatars get 4 randomly chosen attributes, and also super rare ones are possible.

The Roadmap

The team has released their current road map to a certain extent and has broken it down into a few phases.

Phase one will see the release of the PFP drop. Each particlon will include a unique alien avatar. However, it will also include a randomly-generated quantity of the Particlon Utility Token that will be exchangeable for in-game weapons and other merchandise.

This is considerable and it’s a result of the nested NFT capabilities unleashed by Charged Particles. To find out more about it - please take a look at the official website

The second phase would see the release of high-fidelity 3 renderings of the particlon avatars. They will be claimable by PFP holders and will be used for the future game and metaverse integrations.

Phase three will see the release of the weapon store and Particlon Utility token holders will be able to buy weapons for their avatars.

will include shows, private events, exclusive VIP +1 access to VASI drop token holders and Particlon holders.

stands for Virtual Art Systems & Integrations - it’s a full-service NFT agency that is spearheading the Particlon NFT drop.

Organic Growth

One way to gauge the quality of the project besides objective factors such as the promise of its airdrop, the quality of the art, and devs shipping is the growth of their community.

I’ve been a member of Particlon’s discord almost from the very beginning and what I saw was the absolute lack of scam-smelling shenanigans. The growth has been 100% organic - the team behind the project didn’t engage in the typical whitelist bs designed to farm engagement and artificially pump hype within the community.

People are engaged as it is - they just seem to like the idea, the available lore, and the currently revealed artwork.

Another thing to consider is the fact that this is the first generative NFT drop that Charged Particles stands behind.

In essence, Charged Particles is a protocol that allows anyone to deposit ERC-20, ERC-721, or ERC-1155 tokens into an NFT. this is a considerable step forward. It allows teams to create nested NFTs. In the case of Particlon - apart from receiving the artwork PFP represented by each NFT, you also get utility tokens nested in it that can later be used on whatever the team decides to develop.

This is pretty cool.

The team has also hinted at passive income potential for NFT holders via a recently-announced partnership.

Particlon has also struck a partnership with Metaverse platform Mona where they will start hosting their venues. Each Particlon NFT will also act as a VIP pass to attend events for free.

Another cool thing that I see the team doing is regular Twitter spaces to engage the community and to further reveal more information on the project. Some of these sessions dropped serious alpha and there’s definitely value in attending.

Conclusion

Particlon looks to be an ambitious under-the-radar type of project that has shown serious energy and nothing but good vibes so far. The team is energetic and is engaging its community in an organic way which is challenging but very rewarding.

The official details for the mint are:

As an important disclosure, I would like to point out that at the time of this writing, I am in no way affiliated with the team and have no vested interest in the project.
