Last month Unstoppable Domains made the huge move from Etherum to Polygon to save users the fees associated with updating and publishing their domains. Those who had already minted and were using their domains were able to still do so on Ethereum but if you were like me and you bought your domain after the announcement you had to mint the domain on Polygon. Now, this did have some drawbacks as you couldn't do anything under the management tab of your domain but it would be minted. It was announced that the management tab would become active towards the end of November with able to publish and use the website not long after that!
A couple of days ago I got my first notification from Unstoppable Domains that Domain management was live on Polygon! Being new to Unstoppable Domains, Polygon, and really having my own website I had no idea what this meant. Since it was the weekend when I got the notification and I was busy I put it off until I had the time to look it over. Now that I have had that time I have to admit I am extremely impressed with what I have seen!
With this phase completed users have the ability to do a ton of things some of which I will admit I am not quite so sure what they actually do! The biggest thing to me was that I was able to link my wallet addresses to the website! This means that I can finally use it as a catchall for my wallets! I can now have crypto just sent here instead of having to pull up each and every address I have to make sure it goes where I want it to. Of course, that is not all that was opened up as you can do other things like setting up your profiles (this allows you to create a nice simple digital identity that you can spread across the social media and crypto world), transfer your domain NFT, and sell your domain NFT!
The last big thing that this update allows is to verify your NFT PFP! If you are like me this term caught me off-guard but Unstoppable Domains was quick to help! This allows you to easily generate a PFP or a profile picture that verifies your NFT on the blockchain! This has been a really big thing on Twitter where people who own certain NFTs have their picture set as the NFT itself! Now, this is in BETA version which means it only works on Ethereum NFT's while the kinks are being worked out but how great is it to have a feeless way to generate one!
Last but certainly not least in just 3 days on December 9th you will be able to manage your website! Allowing you to generate, manage, launch, etc your website! This is a huge step as it finally makes the domain a fully functioning domain like one would expect when you say you own a domain! It will be exciting to see how smoothly this launch goes and the fact that again it is feeless is the icing on top!
