Unprotected ruleset in Splinterlands - your health is your most important asset

So new week in Splinterlands. New comments from me, along with a new battle to share. Nice for the reader, not so nice for my strategy: The weekly post-challenge images became less generic, so I need to use the same images with the other authors to stay aup-to-date. ;)

What's going on in the Splinterverse? -Again not too much. As far as I heard Land got postponed and the tower defense game still has not been released, but I read something of anyone who bought at least one pack will gain access, soon. I fear this is not true for those who bought on secondary markets (like me).

Btw. did you happen to look at the Chaos Legion prices recently? -I was just astonished to see Obsidian summoner (and Kelya) to go well below a dollar per bcx.

Ruleset of the week: "Unprotected" is its name. Its effects could be described in two words: "no armor".

However the fineprint is a bit more elaborate, find it here:

"All armor is removed from units and one cannot gain armor.

Shield and Divine Shield are unaffected."

Let's look again at one of my battles and look for implications. This time with "Unprotected" ruleset:

In a way both me and one of my opponents had again a bit of the same idea: Use a healer to boost the main tank. Otherwise while I went with Ranged attack, my opponent did go with melee attack.

However my opponent chose with Kelya a caster which gives his units an armor bonus. This is a bonus "Unprotected" ruleset actually ruled out.

However as soon as in Round 1 it did not look too good for me. I lost my Pelacor Arbalest unit which should have been my main damage dealer. In a way my main flaw in this battle became evident, already...

...and in Round 2 with the loss of Time Mage it became even clearer. I neglected the health of my units. Basically it means one hit by my opponent = another one of my units hits the dust.

So no wonder I did not win. My opponent did not even lose a single (1 mana cost) unit!

So what is the conclusion? -If there is no armor to protect your units... something else becomes even more important: Health!

What is true for your life, also holds truth for your SPLINTERLANDS units: Health is most important!

Actually this is nothing new, but "Unprotected" ruleset highlights its importance even more.

So after reading this post I hope next time you face this ruleset you are cleverer than me.
