Since last year’s epic explosion in blockchain gaming, everyone’s been looking for the next and best platforms to play and earn on. We’ve put together a list of the top titles out there at the moment that provide a great gaming experience and the chance to make a little something on the side.
Axie Infinity
The daddy of all blockchain games, Axie Infinity sits near the top of DappRadar’s game rankings page across multiple on-chain activities. Since its heyday in November 2021 when a single piece of land sold for $2.3 million, the hype surrounding Axie Infinity has receded slightly. But players can still make money by harvesting smooth love potion (SLP), breeding and selling Axies and staking Axie Infinity Shards (AXS). Longer term, investing in land which can be rented out or sold for a profit is another option. New developments will surely reinvigorate the Axie ecosystem.

Aavegotchi is turning a corner at the moment. Until now, it’s been a GameFi platform with the promise of gaming keeping people hooked in. With the launch of its alpha coming soon, users will have loads more opportunities to earn rewards and potentially make money. Buying and selling Gotchi, the in-game NFT avatar has become big business recently. There’s also a market for Gotchi wearables or GHST holders can stake the token to earn interest.

REVV Racing
Motorsport computer games are nearly as old as computer games themselves. Animoca Brands’ REVV Racing is one the biggest gaming dapps on the Polygon network and the experience includes everything we’ve come to love about car games. Users can make money by selling collectibles and staking REVV. There are also tournaments to win – last September’s TOWER Cup launched with a prize pool of $150,000 and $12,000 going to the winner.

It’s a collectible trading card game built on the Ethereum network and players can earn money by entering into ranked matches against opponents. As players win and level up, the game rewards them with cards which they can combine and sell on the open marketplace. Players can also compete in weekend challenges to win extra assets to sell.

Crabada is a play-to-earn idle game built on the Avalanche blockchain. Hermit crabs populate the Kingdom of Crabada and players earn rewards through activities such as mining, looting, breeding and battling. Users can sell their rewards on the Crabada marketplace. An open-source idle MMORPG, Nine Chronicles is a fully decentralized dapp where players play, mine and govern together. They can also earn money by crafting and trading in-game assets. Built on the Binance Smart Chain, the game has a steady roadmap and plans that should reward those who stay the course.
