Theta to Release Smart Contracts Dec. 10 '20
Theta is undertaking yet another MAJOR task this year, they are bringing Smart Contracts to their Mainnet .
What does this bring to us? "will increase the use cases of THETA blockchain, drive value to the protocol, and further decentralize the governance and security of Theta as a whole." Use cases such as auto-splitting of TFUEL rewards, investments in Streamers, NFT creators. Additionally, Theta will release a METAMASK style plug-in for Chrome and UI tools for minting new tokens built on Theta blockchain.
When - December 10th at Noon Pacific Time when the target block he target block 8,411,427 goes into affect.
Why now? The Smart contracts have been under intense testing for months and deemed ready to bring Turing-complete contracts to Theta Mainnet.
The Smart contract documentation will be released shortly too.
What else did Theta announce today?
Theta Guardian Node requirements will be released from 10K to 1K. Yep, they want tons of more Guardian Nodes out there protecting the net! WOW, this is HUGE in my mind, it makes it affordable to many many many people to setup and run Guardian Node(s).
JAVA SDK too.
