The skill of digital minimalism

The Oxford Dictionary describes the term as "a period of time during which a person avoids using electronic devices such as smartphones or computers"

What do you think of when you hear the word "digital minimalism"?

Everyone probably imagines something a little different under the term. Someone chooses, for example, a weekend or a week without technology, or outside the online world - digital fasting - Someone is looking for control over the time spent mainly on social networks and limits themselves. How to comfortably swim in the flow of information? Is it even possible to fight something that is designed to keep us addicted? Here are some random examples of why we should at least try…

Better sleep - phone before bed. Blue light from monitors and displays can disrupt melatonin production. That won't happen to you with the book, I recommend it.

Productivity and focus – our attention fragmented between different tasks and information prevents us from focusing on a single goal. The result can be lower productivity, among other things. That is, unless you're a multitasking guru,

of course.

Better relationships with people – Perceiving the presence and people around you who often need you. It's not your tweet about how you feel today. Or where you went for a walk.

Less stress - FOMO effect - Recognizing the boundary of rest between school/work life and time to rest. One simply cannot be with everything... And everywhere.

Digital minimalism as a path to a healthier relationship with cryptocurrencies

While cryptocurrency and digital minimalism may seem at first glance to be in fact opposites, the concept is very applicable in this field as well. A clear financial strategy and investment goal, automation of purchases or various analytical tools significantly affect our time and efficiency in online mode. Portfolio optimization is another example of focusing on a healthy number of projects that we are able to effectively manage.

Digital minimalism as a journey, not a destination

It's important to remember that digital minimalism is all about self-control, lifestyle and prioritization. It's a never-ending search for balance between the online and offline worlds, and it's certainly not an easy task. It allows us to take back control of our time and attention. And it's always worth it.
